Inaugural meeting of the Islay Scotch Society
40-something distilleries in 3 continents, getting "piped in" by a bagpiper to speak to 150 people, and a husband and two children. These are the life experiences brought to me by my love of whisky, particularly peated Scotch whiskies.
I became enthralled with the spirit when I joined the Islay Scotch Society of DC, eventually becoming an administrator of the group. I met my husband--whose enthusiasm for the subject well surpasses my own--through this interest.
We occasionally offer whisky tastings and talks such as "Whisk(e)y 101" or "Women & Whisky" for business groups and social organizations.
